Let a=18
b=7
Then,a^2-b^2=275.
a+b=25
a-b=18-7=11

hello....

As we know that
(a + b)(a - b) =  {a}^{2}  -  {b}^{2}
here ...

a^2 - b^2 = 275
(a + b )(a - b) = 275
25 ( a - b) =275
(a - b) = 275/25.

Hence ( a - b) = 11

hope it helps
