If A(4,0), B(0,y) ans AB=5,then find the possible values of y.
Nareshmar:
If you are in 10th you should be aware of distance formula so given is AB=5 Units and Coordinate Are A(4,0) , B(0,y) so distance formula d=✓(x2-x1)^ + (y2-y1)^ so adding given value we get 5=✓(0-4)^ + (y-0)^ so solving it we get 5=✓-16+y^ so y^= -4-5 which is y^= -9 so y= -3

Heya !!
Given :- A(4,0) and B(0,y), and AB = 5
To find :- y
Proof :- AB = √(x2-x1)² + (y2-y1)²
=> 5 = √(0-4)² + (y-0)²
=> 5 = √(-4)² + (y²)
=> 5 = √16+y²
Squaring on both sides
(5)² = (√16+y²)²
=> 25 = 16+y²
=> y² = 25 - 16
=> y² = 9
=> y = √9
=> y = 3
