Answer:

VERIFICATION OF COMMUTATIVE PROPERTY UNDER MULTIPLICATION ::

a = - 4/7 and b = 35/12

a×b = - 4/7 × 35/12 = - 5/3

b×a = 35/12 × - 4/7 = - 5/3

So

a× b = b × a

Hence verified

Commutative property :

Commutative property states that even if we change the order of the given numbers to be multiplied or added the product or sum would be equal respectively.

Proof to show that commutative property is closed under multiplication :

\longrightarrow{\sf{a = \dfrac{-4}{7}}}

\longrightarrow{\sf{a = \dfrac{35}{12}}}

Commutative property :

\longrightarrow{\sf{a \times b\: (or)\: b \times a = c}}

\longrightarrow{\sf{ \dfrac{-4}{7} \times \dfrac{35}{12} }}

\longrightarrow{\sf{\dfrac{-4}{7} \times \dfrac{35}{12} = \dfrac{-140}{84}}}

Further simplification :

\longrightarrow{\sf{\dfrac{-5}{3}}}

So ; a × b in first condition is equal to 245/84

\longrightarrow{\sf{ \dfrac{35}{12} \times \dfrac{-4}{7}}}

\longrightarrow{\sf{ \dfrac{35}{12} \times \dfrac{-4}{7} = \dfrac{-140}{84}}}

Further simplification :

\longrightarrow{\sf{\dfrac{-5}{3}}}

Here lets put both the products side by side :

\sf{\dfrac{-5}{3}} = \sf{\dfrac{-5}{3}}

LHS = RHS

Hence , verified.
