Answer:

a = 5 - 2 root 6 , b =1 / a

To find a ^2 + b ^2

( 5 -2 root6) ^2 + (1/ a )^2

[(5)^2 + (2root6)^2 - 2(5)(2root6)]+ (1)^2/ (a)^2

[25 + 24 - 20root6] + 1/a^2

49- 20root6 + 1/a^2

49-20root6 + 1/a ^2
