Mistake is in the question. We have to find the AREA OF QUADRILATERAL in this question not the values of a & b.

Area of a quadrilateral:
To find the area of a quadrilateral first we divide it into triangular region which have no common area. Then find the area of a triangular region separately and add them to get the required area of the given quadrilateral.
Here,We find the area of triangle by using the given Formula.
Area of ∆ = ½ | x1 (y2-y3)+x2(y3-y1)+x3(y1-y2) | sq units.
