If A and B be two sets containing 3 and 6 elements respectively, what can be the minimum number of elements in A ∪ B ? Find, also the maximum number of elements in A ∪ B ?

Answer:

9 and 9. If you take the no. of elements in A and B and add them we get the answer as 9. As the value for the number of elements are constant values the minimum and maximum value of A U B will be 9.

(U means union, which is a symbol addition.)
