Wurtz's reaction is a coupling reaction of two alkyl halide molecules in presence of sodium metal in dry ether to produce a higher alkane molecule.
But due to the formation of mixtures of alkanes, Wurtz reaction is not a good method for the manufacture of alkane with an odd number of carbon atoms.
As Propane is a hydrocarbon or alkane with carbon atoms, so this is not a good method its preparation.
