first we have to make the values of b equal.So we have to multiply 2 with 1:2 to make b= 4 and we have to multiply it with a as well.

hence a:b= (1:2)*2=2:4

now, a:b= 2:4 and b:c= 4:7

therefore, a:c= 2:7
