here is ur answer...the heat which gets used to to break the intermolecular forces of solids and then change to the state of matter to liquid know as latent heat of fusion...if u melt ice..u would notice that the temperature doesn,t increase as that heat gets used to change solid to liquid..this is latent heat of fusion....similarly latent heat of vapurisation is the heat which breaks the intermolecular forces of liquids n change the matter to gases

latent heat of vaporization- the hidden heat which help in giving energy to the substances to change into vapour is called latent heat of vaporization
