Answer:

a+b = 10

b= 10- a ------> eqn ☺️

put in a^2+b^2= 58

( 10-b) ^2 + b^2 = 58

100+ b^2 - 20b + b^2 = 58

2b^2 - 20b = 58-100

2( b^2 - 10b) = -42

now divide by 2 on both sides

b^2 - 10b = - 21

b^2 - 10b + 21 = 0

b^2 -7 b -3b + 21 = 0

b ( b -7 ) - 3( b - 7 ) = 0

now ,

b= 7 whn a= 3

b= 3 whn a = 7

as a.> b here so a= 7 and b = 3

and

.

. . a-b = 4 and

a^2 - b^2 = 40

hope this answer will be helpful to you
