a+b=12

a=12-b............(i)

ab=35.............(ii)

putting the value of a in eqn (ii)

12-b(b)=35

12b-b^2=35

b^2-12b+35=0

b^2-7b-5b+35=0

b(b-7)-5(b-7)=0

(b-7)(b-5)

so the value of b will be 7 or 5

and b^2 value will be

49 or 25

i hope after this u can take out the value of a

thank u..

(a+b)*2= a*2+b*2+2ab

12*2= a*2+b*2+ 2.35
144=a*2+b*2+70
a*2 +b*2=144-70
a*2+b*2=74
