(a - b)² = ( a + b )² - 4ab

= 2² - 4 × (-3)

=4 - (- 12)

= 4 + 12

= 16

(a - b)² = 16

(a - b) = √16 = 4

a - b = 4 (Answer)

(a+b)² = (2)²

or, a² + 2ab + b² = 4

or, a² + b² +2.(-3) = 4

or, a² + b² - 6 = 4

or, a² + b² = 10

or, a² + b² - 2ab = 10 - 2.(-3)

or, a² - 2ab + b² = 10 + 6

or, (a - b)² = 16

or, (a-b) = 4.
