given

a-b=3 eq1 and a²+b²=29

then

(a+b)²=29

a+b=√29

a+b=5.38 eq2

then

a-b=3

a+b=5.38

—————

2a=8.38

a=4.19

subtitute a=4.19 in eq 1

a-b=3

4.19-b=3

-b=3-4.19

The value of ab is 10.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : If a-b=3  and a^2 + b^2 = 29

To find : The value of ab ?

Solution :

Using the algebraic identity,

(a-b)^2=a^2+b^2-2ab

Substituting the given values,

a-b=3  and a^2 + b^2 = 29

(3)^2=29-2ab

9=29-2ab

2ab=29-9

2ab=20

ab=\frac{20}{2}

ab=10

Therefore, the value of ab is 10.
