the value of a^2 +b^2​

Given:  a +b=4, ab=3

so,

[a+b]^2 = [4]^2

a^2+2ab+b^2 = 16

a^2+b^2+2[3] = 16

a^2+b^2+6 = 16

a^2+b^2 = 16-6

a^2+b^2 = 10
