and,

ab = 15

=> 2ab = 30 .............................(ii)

It is true that (a+b)^2 = a^2 + b+2 + 2ab

=> a^2 + b^2 = (a+b)^2 - 2ab

=> a^2 + b^2 = 64 - 30. ...........(from i and ii)

=> a^2 + b^2 = 34.

Thus, the correct answer is 34!
