Answer:

If a-b=4 and a^2-b^2=80, then what is the average of a and b?

The equation given to us is, a−b=4

So, by

Third(III) Identity of Algebraic Factorisation

a2−b2=(a+b)(a−b)

As per the Question —

(a+b)(a−b)=80

∴ Substituting a−b=4,

(a+b)×4=80

(a+b)=20

Since now we have two equations, we can add them to get the respective values of a and b .

∴(a+b)+(a−b)=20+4

a+b+a−b=24

2a=24 or a=12

Putting a=12 in any of the two equations —

(a+b)=20

12+b=20

b=8

Now, what we need is the average of a and b

So, Average=a+b2

∴ 12+82

=10

A^2-b^2) =15 and a*b=-4, what is the value of (a-b) ^2?

a-b=4

a²-b²=80

(a+b)(a-b) / a-b=80/4=20

a+b=20

The average of a and b is a+b/2. So:

a+b/2=20/2

=10

What is the meaning of life? Does my life make sense?

a^2 - b^2 = 80

(a + b)(a - b) = 80………..(1)

a-b = 4 ……………(2)

Substitute for a - b in(1)

4(a + b) = 80

a +b = 20

(a + b)/2 = 10 ………..average

Given that a-b = 4 and a^2-b^2 = 80.

a^2-b^2 = 80 = (a+b)(a-b) = 4(a+b)

So (a+b) = 80/4 = 20

So average of a and b = 20/2 = 10.

You can rewrite a^2-b^2=80 as (a-b)(a+b)=80. Now you can just plug in a-b=4:

4(a+b)=80 becomes a+b=20. Since the average is (a+b)/2 we just divide this by 2 to get (a+b)/2=20/2=10.

The average of a and b is 10.

Answer:

80 = a+b

80= x+x

80= 2x

x = 80 ÷2

x = 40
