a + b = 8 .......(3)

Therefore,
(1) => a + b + c = 6
8 + c = 6 ( from 3)
c = (-2)
(1)=> a + b + c = 6
a + 12 = 6 (from 2)
a = (-6)

So, a + c = - 6 - 2
= (- 8)
