sin²A + cos²A = 1

GIVEN: A + B = 90°

TO FIND sin²A + cos²A
SOLUTION: As we are given,

A + B = 90°

Implying that,
B = (90-A)

Using the same value as follows:

sin B

= sin(90-A)

= cosA

Now using the identity,

sin²A + sin²B

= sin²A + cos²A                  ( replacing the value)

= 1

sin²A + cos²A = 1
