a+b=4
so,
a=4-b
put it in equation that is
ab=-12
b(4-b) = -12
4b-bsquare =-12
therefore...
b sq. -4b -12 =0
b sq. -6b +2b -12=0
b(b-6)+2(b-6) =0
b=-2 or b =6
put value in a+b=4 and find a
then find values of a-b and a sq. - b sq......
HOPE IT HELPS....
