"Calculations can be made in this regard

No. of cells intially in the cup =1

After 1 min no. of cells will be 2×1=2¹

After 2 min =2×2=2²

After 3 min =2×2×2=2³

So, after 23 min no. of cells will be 2x23 = 46

Quantity of whole cup =2x23 cells = 46

Quantity of half a cup =2x23/2=23

Thus, time taken to fill half of the cup =22 min"
