Initial speed, u=11 m/s

For upward motion of ball,

Final speed, v=0

Using,

v^2=u^2+2gh

0=11^2+2×(−10)×h

0=121−20h

or h=121/20=6.05 m

Again,

v=u+gt

0=11−10t

t=1.1 s

For downward journey,

Initial speed,

u=0

h=6.05+4=10.05 m

Using,

v^2=u^2+2gh

=0+2×10×10.05

or

v=14.17 m/s

Again,

v=u+gt

14.17=0+10t

or

t=1.417 s

Total time taken in the whole journey
=1.1+1.417=2.517 s
