If a ball is thrown vertically upward with velocity of 40 m/s then what will be the magnitude of its displacement after 6s take g=10

  • S = ut + 0.5at²

Where,

  • S = Displacement covered in time "t"
  • u = Initial velocity of object
  • a = Acceleration of object

Acceleration due to gravity is in opposite direction of initial velocity. So we will take it as -10 m/s²

S = (40 m/s × 6 s) + (0.5 × -10 m/s² × (6 s)²)

= 240 m - 180 m

= 60 m
