If a body has positive charge then it means that it has lost some electrons. Actually, in an atom the lost or gain of electron occurs which decide the charge on atom. When an atom has postive charge then it is called Cation and when a body has negative charge then it is called as anions.
For example :-
If we rub a plastic with woollen cloth then plastic easily loses elecron and woollen gains that electron. After that plastic becomes postive charge because it has lose an electron and woollen cloth becomes negative charge by the gain of electron.

Answer:
it lost electron because when body lose electron it loses its negative charge and when from body negative charge removed then only positive charge remaining
