The work done on a body moving in a circular path is also zero. This is because, when a body moves in a circular path, then the centripetal force acts along the radius of the circle, and it is at right angles to the motion of the body. Thus, the work done in the case of moon moving round the earth is also zero.

positive work is done

if something is moving is a straight path, to make is curved a force must act from a point relative to that particular system...

This force in course makes the path elliptical

If constant force acts on a same point relative to the system , means a circular path..

Thus this changes the potential of the body and keeps it conserved afterward..

Thus work is done positive for the string or the center of force acting..

This may be similar to motion of objects(satelite) around earth
