We know that when a body gains electrons, the body becomes negatively charged and when a body leaves electrons, the body becomes positively charged. As the body is negatively charged so it has acquired excess of electrons.

Answer: If a body is negatively charged, then it has more no. of electrons compared to no. of protons.

Explanation:

Charged body: A charged body is one that carries a charge. However, this charge could be neutral or negative or even positive.

A charged body may be categorized as follows depending on the type of charge:

  • Positively Charged Body: A body with more number of protons compared to number of electrons present in the atoms of that body is known as positively charged body.
  • Negatively Charged Body : A body with more number of electrons compared to the protons present in the atoms of that body is known as negatively charged body.

So in a negatively charged body, the electrons which are the negatively charged subatomic particles are present, and also positively charged subatomic particles which are known as electrons, are present. But in it the number of negatively charged electrons are more in number than the positively charged protons.

So the answer is justified.
