Explanation:

since v1= v m/s

and. v2= 3v m/s

and in both the cases the time is same so let time = t

therefore d1= v1 × t = vt

and. d2= v2 × t= 3vt

and we know that,

velocity (avg)= total displacement/toal time

= (vt+3vt)/(t+t)

= vt(1+3)/2t

= 4vt/2t = 2v m/s
