GIVEN:

  • Initial Velocity (u) = 0
  • Final velocity (v) = 50 m/sec
  • Time taken (t) = 5 sec

TO FIND:

  • What is the acceleration and distance travelled by the car ?

SOLUTION:

We have given that, a car start from rest and attained a velocity of 50m/s in 5s.

From 1) equation of motion:-

\large\bf{\star \: v = u + at \: \star}

According to question:

\sf{\mapsto 50 = 0 + a \times 5}

\sf{\mapsto 50 = 5a}

\sf{\mapsto a = \cancel\dfrac{50}{5}}

\bf{\mapsto \star \: a = 10 \: m/s^2 \: \star}

The acceleration of the car is 10 m/ ❞

Now, we have to find the distance travelled by the car

From 2) equation of motion:-

\large\bf{\star \: s = ut + \dfrac{1}{2}at^2 \: \star}

According to question:-

\sf{\mapsto s = 0\times 5 + \dfrac{1}{\cancel{2}} \times \cancel{10} \times (5)^2  }

\sf{\mapsto s =  0 + 5 \times 25 }

\sf{\mapsto s = 5 \times 25 }

\bf{\mapsto \star \: s = 125 \: m \: \star }

Hence, the acceleration of the car is 10 m/ and distance travelled by the car is 125 m ❞
