Given:

Distance travelled by car,d= 600 m

Time taken,t= 5 min= 5×60= 300 s

To Find:

Speed of car

Diagram:

\setlength{\unitlength}{1cm}\thicklines\begin{picture}(30,15)\put(1.85,1.1){\oval(2.5,1.6)[t]}\put(1.85,1.1){\oval(2.28,1.36)[t]}\put(0.7,1.2){\line(1,0){2.3}}\put(1.85,1.2){\line(0,1){0.6}}\put(0,0){\line(1,0){6.5}}\put(0.1,0.3){\line(1,0){0.5}}\put(1.2,0.3){\line(1,0){1.42}}\put(3.2,0.3){\line(1,0){0.5}}\put(1.9,0.3){\oval(3.6,1.6)[t]}\put(3.2,0.69){\line(1,0){0.2}}\put(3.2,0.69){\line(0,1){0.2}}\qbezier(3.2,0.89)(3.44,0.82)(3.4,0.69)\put(0.43,0.69){\line(1,0){0.2}}\put(0.6,0.69){\line(0,1){0.2}}\qbezier(0.43,0.69)(0.3,0.8)(0.6,0.89)\put(3.8,1.4){$\rm{t=300s}$}}\put(0.9,0.3){\circle{0.55}}\put(2.9,0.3){\circle{0.55}}\put(0.9,0.3){\circle*{0.3}}\put(2.9,0.3){\circle*{0.3}}\put(3.5,2.8){\vector(1,0){1.5}}\put(3.4,2.4){$\rm{d=600m}$}}\end{picture}

Solution:

We know that,

  • \pink{\underline{\boxed{\bf{Speed=\dfrac{Distance}{Time}}}}}

\rule{190}{1}

Let the speed of car be S

So,

\longrightarrow\rm{S=\dfrac{\cancel{600}}{\cancel{300}}}

\longrightarrow\rm\green{S=2\ m/s}

Hence, the speed of car is 2 m/s.
