The correct  equation for the above sentence is x + 7 = 2x - 5

Solution:

Given that,

A certain number, x, is increased by 7, it will be equal to 5 less than twice that same number

Translate the above sentence into algebraic expression

x, is increased by 7 = x + 7

5 less than twice that same number = 2x - 5

Thus,

x + 7 = 2x - 5

2x - x = 7 + 5

x = 12
