Step-by-step explanation:

Given 20 workers can complete the work in 30 days

=> 1 worker can do work in 600 days..

=> 1 worker’s 1 day work is 1/600 th part of work..

Lets assume that ‘x’ is the number of days that all the 20 workers worked together (i.e after ‘x’ days 5 workers left the work..)

=> 20 workers work for ‘x’ days and 15 workers work for ‘35-x’ days (since the whole work is completed in 35 days..)

Since 20 workers worked together for ‘x’ days and 15 workers worked for ‘35-x’ days to completed 1 work ..

We have 1 worker’s one day work as 1/600 th work..

We are adding the parts of work done

=> [(x days)*(20 workers)*(1/ 600 th work by each worker on each day)] +

[(35-x days)*(15 workers)*(1/600 th work by each worker on each day)] ==1(Full work)

=> [x (1/30)]+ [(35-x)*(1/40)] = 1

=> x= 15 days

=> To complete the work in 35 days…5 workers are allowed to leave the work After working for 15 days.
