If a Heterozygous Plant is self pollinated:----

Let us take an example to understand it well:----
In Pea plants gene for tallness is dominant on gene for dwarfness...

The Genotype of Heterozygous Tall plant is Tt
Now when this Heterozygous Tt is self pollinated..

There will be two kinds of Gametes
One type carrying T allele and other type carrying t allele

T t X T t
|
1 TT : 2 Tt :1 tt
Will be in next generation..

One Homozygous dominant

Two Heterozygous and

One Homozygous recessive

So proportion of Heterozygous will be 2 out of 4
2/4 = 1/2
Or 50 ℅ plants will be Heterozygous.

Hope you can understand it well now....

Thanks.
