Step-by-step explanation:

Given -

  • If a man sell his chair for Rs. 720 he would loss of 25%

To Find -

  • In How many Rs. he would sell his chair for the gain or 25%

Now,

SP = 720

Loss = 25%

It means,

⇝720 × 25/100

⇝180

CP = 720 + 180 = 900

If the man want them gain of 25% Then, He would sell the chair in gain of 25% in the CP

It means,

⇝900 × 25/100

⇝225

⇝SP = 900 + 225

⇝1125

Hence,

The SP for the gain of 25% is Rs. 1125

Solution:- 1

SP = Rs.720

Loss = 25%

Cp = \frac{100 \times 720}{100 - 25 = \frac{100 \times 720}{75} = 240 \times 4 = 960

CP = Rs.960

25% of 960 = Rs.240

New SP = 960+240 = Rs1200

Solution:- 2

Let the Cost price of the Chair is X.

SP = X - 25% of X

720 = 0.75X

X = 960

CP = Rs. 960

So, To gain 25%, SP would be

= 960 + 25% of 960 =Rs. 1200

Short-cut

CP of chair = 100/75 × 720 = Rs. 960

To gain 25%, SP = 12/100 × 960 = Rs. 1200
