When a body is throw or dropped from some height then we take initial velocity i. e u=0 because when the body is dropping the body is at rest.
Now, we apply the formula v^2-u^2=2as
But a is replaced by g and s is replaced by h..
v^2-u^2=2gh
v^2=0+2*10*100
v^2=2000
v=√2000
v=44.6m/s..
