Here it is given that when a number is added to two and multiplied by 5 then the answer comes out to be 120

We have to find the number

Let us assume the number to be x

Then the condition can be mathematically represented as

( x + 2 ) 5 = 120

We will simplify this equation to find the value of x

( x + 2 ) 5 = 120

x + 2 = 120 / 5

  x + 2 = 24

       x = 24 - 2

      x = 22

Hence, the number will be 22

To find : missing number

Given : number is added to 2 and multiplied by 5 the answer is 120 .

Solution :

  • Let the missing number be x .
  • According to question we are given that number is added to 2 and multiplied by 5 the answer is 120 therefore , we write given condition as ,
  • ( x + 2 ) 5 =120

         (x + 2 ) 5 = 120  \\5x + 10 = 120 \\5x = 120 - 10\\x = \frac{110}{5}  \\x = 22

Hence , missing number is 22 .
