If a number is increased by 20% and the resulting number is again increased by 20%, what percentage is the total number increase

Suppose original number is 100.

It is increased by 20 %, so result will be 120.

The resulting number is again increased by 20%, that is increased by 120 *20/100, that is increased by 24. The final result will be 120+24 that is 144.

The final result is increased by 44 compared to original number 100.

So increase by 44%.

Here is your Answer mate:-

Suppose that original number is

100%

1st ••• 20℅ increase

100 × 120/100 = 120%

again 20% increase

2nd •••• 120 × 120/100 = 144℅

total increase percentage

144% - 100% = 44%
