x+y=50

=>x=50-y(eq. 1)

also,

3x+5y=210 (eq.2)

=>3(50-y)+5y=210

=>150-3y+5y=210

=>2y=60

=>y=30

Now, put the value of y in equation 1

x=50-30

=>x=20
