The bread of piece that is placed in the jar will develop mould because when the bread is exposed in the air then this will rise to the mould formation.

The tiny spores will start to grow mould and then the germination of the spores will take place and spread out in the jar.

However, if the bread is placed in the air-tight jar then the formation will be at a slower rate.
