Initially, both the piece of paper and the pile of books are in a state of rest.

When the piece of paper placed under a pile of books is suddenly pulled it is set into motion, while the pile of books remain in the state of rest due to inertia of rest.

Thus, the pile of books does not move.

Answer:

The correct answer to the question-"if a piece of paper placed under a pile of books is suddenly pulled, it doesn't disturb the pile of books" is-

Due ot inertia

Explanation:

If a piece of paper placed under a pile of books is suddenly drawn , it doesn't disturb the pile of books because both Book and piece of paper are initially at rest.

When sudden jerk is given to the piece of paper which is kept under book, the motion of piece of paper in not imporsed to the book.

Therefore, due to inertia of rest the book does not move.

Let us know ,what is inertia of rest-

Inertia of rest-

Inertial of rest is the tendency of a body to remain or stay in its state of rest or its inability to change its state of rest by itself.

For example-

  1. As the lower portion of the car comes in motion where as the upper part tries to remain at rest because of inertia of rest.
  2. When a tree is vigorously shaken, some of the leaves fall from the tree:
  3. Falling down of dust particle while dusting a cloth.
  4. Falling down backward when a vehicle starts immediately
