If a point q lies on y axis then which is greater its ordinate or abscissa?give reason for your answer

Abscissa is the x axis value while
Ordinate is the y axis valu

Now,
A point on y axis is of form (0,y)

and,
the point can't be origin

so, (for positive value of y)
y has some value

=> ordinate > abscissa

Reason=> Since, ordinate has some value which is greater than 0(abscissa)
therefore ordinate is greater than abscissa

Note:-
(In case y is negative then opposite is true)
