Hi ,

This is related to direct proportion,

If y1 , y2 are the values of y

corresponding to the values x1 , x2

of x respectively, then

x1 / y1 = x2 / y2

According to the given problem ,

Poster width ( w1 ) = 3 inches ,

Length = l1 = = 5 inches ,

If increases width = ( w2 ) = 9inches ,

Let the length = l2 =?

w1 / l1 = w2 / l2

3/5 = 9/ l2

l2 = ( 9 × 5 )/ 3

l2 = 3 × 5

l2 = 15 inches

I hope this helps you.
