If the light passes from the rarer medium to the denser medium then the speed of the light decreases, means the wavelength also decreases, since the wavelength is directly proportional to the speed of th light. If the wavelength increases then the frequency of the light increases. (By the Relation v = fλ)
Thus, If the Ray of light travels from the rarer to the denser it frequency increase.
If the ray of light travels from the denser medium to the rarer medium then the speed of the light increases as a result of which wavelength increases and frequency decreases.
