If a seed is inserted upside down into the soil the roots will still grow in the downward direction and the stem in upward direction. The feature of living thing which it shows is SENSITIVITY. Like the roots are sensitive to Gravity and grow in its direction and the stem is also sensitive to gravity but shows negative tropism ( movement away from the source ).

Even if a seed is down upsidedown
the roots will grow downwards and the shoot upwards as:
The roots are sensitive to the gravitational pull of the earth and will grow downwards the stem shows negative tropism (the process of moving away from the source)
It shows SENSITIVITY of living things
