volume of original sphere = volume of formed sphere
4/3 πR^3 = 4/3 πr1^3 + 4/3 πr2^3 + 4/3 πr3^3
4/3 πR^3 = 4/3 π ( r1^3 + r2^3 + r3^3 )
R^3 = ( r1^3 + r2^3 + r3^3 )
1.5^3 = 0.75^3 + 1^3 + r3^3
3.375 = 0.421875 + 1 + r3^3
r3^3 = 3.375 - 1.421875
r3^3 = 1.953125
taking cube root
r3 = 1.25 cm
so it's d = 1.25 ×2 = 2.5 cm
4/3 πR^3 = 4/3 πr1^3 + 4/3 πr2^3 + 4/3 πr3^3
4/3 πR^3 = 4/3 π ( r1^3 + r2^3 + r3^3 )
R^3 = ( r1^3 + r2^3 + r3^3 )
