If A square minus 4A minus 1 =0 and a is not equal to 0 find the value of a - 1 by A .​

 {a}^{2}  - 4a - 1 = 0 \\  {a}^{2}  - 4a = 1 \\  {a}^{2}  - 4a + 4 = 1 + 4 \\  {(a - 2)}^{2}  = 5 \\ a - 2 =  ±  \sqrt{5}  \\ a = 2 ±  \sqrt{5}

Therefore,

 \frac{a - 1}{a}  \\  =  \frac{2 ± \sqrt{5} - 1 }{2 ±  \sqrt{5} }  \\  =  \frac{1 ±  \sqrt{5} }{2 ±  \sqrt{5} }
