If a substance has weight 12 N on earth, what will be its weight on moon? What will be the change of  its mass?​

as we all know that

onoon the weight of any object becomes 1/6th due to very small gravity as compared with earth

therefore if a substance has weight 12 N then

on moon it will be 1/6 th of 12 N

i.e., 1/6x12 N = 2 N

change of its mass = 0

because mass doesn't depend upon places.

hence mass of substance on earth and moon will be the same.

therefore, change of mass will be = Me - Mm = 0

[Me and Mm = mass on earth and moon respectively]

[concept : since mass doesn't depend upon places therefore weight changes due to acceleration due to gravity at the place where weight is calculated].
