If a tall homozygous plant of 40inch length with genotype (AABB) and short homozygous plant of 20inch length with genotype (aabb) are hybridised then what is the length of offspring with genotype (AaBb)

The tall homozygous plant's genotype = AABB

The length of the plant = 40 inch

The short homozygous plant's genotype = aabb

The length of the plant = 20 inch

Now, we know that after crossing this we will get all heterozygous plant as progeny with genotype AaBb.

Now, we know that tallness here is dominant gene and the shortness or Dwarfness is recessive gene.

Hence, The heterozygous progeny plant which has the dominant gene of tallness will obviously have its length to be the same as the homozygous tall plant.

Hence, length of the offspring = 40 inch.
