Lets suppose that the correct time in which the train has to cover the fixed distance is x minutes.

So according to the question,
When train runs at 40 kmph,
Distance travelled = 40 × (x+11) ------(1)

When train travels at 50kmph,
Distance travelled = 50 × (x+5) ------(2)

Since distance travelled in both situations is the same,

=> 40 × (x+11) = 50 × (x+5)

Dividing both sides by 10,

4 × (x+11) = 5 × (x+5)

=> 4x + 44 = 5x + 25

=> 5x - 4x =44 - 25

\textbf{x = 19 minutes}

Lets put value of x as 19 in equation (1)

=> Distance travelled = 40 × (x+11)
=> Distance travelled = 40 × (19+11)
=> Distance travelled = 40 × 30
=> Distance travelled = 1200 km

\textbf{So the distance to be covered by train is 1200 km}

\textbf{Hope It Helps}

\textbf{Thanks}
