if a trolley starts from rest with an acceleration of 2cm/s²,find the velocity of the body after 3s​

Velocity after 3 seconds is 0.06 m/s

Solution

As the trolley starts from rest,

Initial speed i.e. u = 0 m/s

Acceleration (a) = 2 cm/s²

= (2/100) m/s²

= 0.02 m/s²

Time taken (t) = 3 seconds.

We will use 1st equation of motion to find velocity after 3 seconds.

* 1st equation → v = u + at

⇒ v = 0 + (0.02 × 3)

⇒ v = 0 + 0.06

v = 0.06 m/s

Velocity of trolley after 3 seconds = 0.06 m/s

To Find :

  • Velocity after 3 seconds

Solution :

We are given that trolley starts from rest. It means initial velocity (u) will be 0 m/s.

We will use here equations of Kinematics.

First of all we have to convert acceleration into m/s² from cm/s², by dividing it by 100

⇒a = 2/100

⇒a = 0.02

\therefore Acceleration is 0.02 m/s²

Use 1st equation of Kinematics

➠ = v = u + at

⇒ v = 0 + 0.02 × 3

⇒v = 0 + 0.06

⇒v = 0.06

\therefore Velocity of body after e seconds is 0.06 m/s
