If a truck starts from rest and it has acceleration of 4 m/s2 for 5 seconds, calculate its final velocity. What will be the distance travelled by the truck during the time interval?
That is 4 metre per second square...please solve it.

Final velocity of truck is 20 m/s and distance travelled by truck is 50 m.

Solution

As the truck starts from rest, so initial speed i.e. u = 0 m/s

Acceleration (a) = 4 m/s²

Time (t) = 5 seconds.

We will use 1st equation of motion to find final velocity of truck :

* 1st equation → v = u + at

⇒ v = 0 + 4 × 5

⇒ v = 0 + 20

v = 20 m/s

Final velocity of truck = 20 m/s

Now we will use 3rd equation of motion to find distance travelled by truck :

* 3rd equation → v² - u² = 2as

⇒ 20² - 0² = 2 × 4 × s

⇒ 400 - 0 = 8s

⇒ 8s = 400

⇒ s = 400/8

s = 50 m

Distance travelled by truck during time interval = 50 m
