aryanbalotiya: i am sorry the correct ans is 1/2
aryanbalotiya: you have to solve (a-b)(2a+b)= 2a sq. + ab - 2ab - b sq.
aryanbalotiya: as we know a and b are unit vectors so, 2a sq. = 2, -b sq. = -1
aryanbalotiya: we can write -a.b = -ab.cos theta coz a.b = abcos theta
aryanbalotiya: from the above attachment you can see cos theta = 1/2 so -ab.cos theta = -1/2
aryanbalotiya: now put all the values
aryanbalotiya: 2 - 1/2 - 1 = 1/2 hence your ans is 1/2
aryanbalotiya: and sorry for the inconvenience
